The world famous St. Mary's Hospital is located in the heart of Paddington and provides a wide range of general and specialist services alongside world class research at Imperial College.
The hospital is part of the Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust, formed in October 2007. The Trust, the largest in England, is the first Academic Health Sciences Centre in the UK and aims to encourage closer links between service and research so improve care to patients. Services at St. Mary's include specialist women's health, cardiology, children's services, infection and immunity and robotic surgery, delivered to both local people and from across the UK.
The Trust earned a 'good' rating for the quality of its services in the latest health service rating review and the Trust has the second lowest mortality rates - a key indicator of clinical quality -of hospitals in England.
